First Response for Sports Trauma Course at FirstEnergy Stadium

The First Response for Sports Trauma (FRST) course, conceived and developed by Robert Flannery, MD of the University Hospitals Sports Medicine Institute, is designed to provide EMS professionals the skills required to cover sporting events and treat athletes in the events of sudden cardiac arrest, heat illness, sickle cell disease, and concussion. The course also includes hands-on practice for removing protective equipment (i.e. football helmets and pads) in the event of trauma to the neck or spine. This highly active, dynamic course is the first of its kind in Northeast Ohio, and aims to give communities the tools they need to prepare and act when an athlete's life is in danger. This free course is CEU-accredited through University Hospitals EMS Training & Disaster Preparedness Institute. Parking & Directions: When you arrive please park in the North Coast Harbor Lot (yellow lot on map linked below) located on the north side of the stadium. Note that the fee to park here is normally $6. You will then cross the street and go up the large staircase in the middle of the stadium under the “FirstEnergy” Sign. Once you are at the top of the stairs, veer left and enter the NE Suite Entrance doors. Click here for detailed directions and a map.
